An Eye For Detail

As an inspector I spend a vast amount of time critically examining different systems. An attentive eye and a willingness to move carefully and methodically through a home is as important as anything else. As an example with a typical front door system; we check to make sure the door opens and closes correctly, the seal is present and appears to be functional, the locking mechanisms function and latches against the catch plates correctly, there is no physical damage that could lead to the door failing. At this point I have been in thousands of homes, for home inspections, rental, lead paint, mold, or a simple consultation. The most useful tool in my bag is patience and the will to provide excellent service. So here are a few defects that ANYONE could find if the time is taken to look just a little closer!
